Are production numbers available?

Unfortunately, Mazda does not track the individual production numbers.

Does the turbocharger need cooling?

To better protect the turbocharger, Mazda recommends allowing the vehicle to idle for about 45 seconds prior to shutting off.

How should the vehicle be started?

Start the vehicle without pressing the accelerator. If the accelerator is pressed, the turbo will spin without enough oil and could cause the engine to burn up.

When should the oil be changed and what type should be used?

Oil change intervals should be done at 3 months/3,000 miles. Lubricating oil should be 5W-30 or 10W-30 (depending on climate), grade API SL or ILSAC GF-3 (or higher). Oil additives are not recommended. Please refer to your owner's manual for more information.

What type of turbocharger was put in the vehicle?

The vehicle uses the Garrett T-25 ball-bearing unit in a Callaway Turbocharger kit. This produces 170 hp @ 6,000rpm. The boost is 6 psi.

Does the vehicle come with a timing chain or timing belt?

It comes with a timing belt.

What is the stereo output and speaker size?

The vehicle uses a Kenwood stereo. 450 total watts. 7 speakers - 2 tweeters near the rear-view mirror, left and right door-mounted 6x9 inch coaxial speakers, 2 rear-shelf-mounted 6-inch coaxial speakers, trunk 8-inch subwoofer and 250-watt amp. Stereo is pre-wired for Sirius Satellite Radio. The CD player can play MP3.

What type of tire and wheel is on the vehicle?

The vehicle comes with Bridgestone Potenza RE040 215/45ZR17 Z-rated high performance tires. The wheels are Racing Hart 17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheel with wheel locks.

What is the wheel offset?

The offset is 65 mm.

What about the spare tire and changing tires?

The tires are directional tires, which means they have to be rotated from front to back not diagonally. The spare tire needs to be put on the rear tire so if the front tire is flat, it will have to be rotated with the back tire and the spare will go on the back.

Where is the antenna?

The antenna is integrated in the rear window.

What type of oil is recommended?

How do I find out what the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) rated my vehicle for safety?

You may visit their website at: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/testing/NCAP. You will be able to choose any model to see the safety rating.
