It’s aerodynamically designed to add little weight to the vehicle and, when lowered, collapses into its own compartment for a tight fit that doesn’t reduce your 5.3 cubic feet of trunk space.

Anti-theft Features

The standard engine immobilizer anti-theft system helps protect your vehicle by requiring a properly coded key to start the engine. If a counterfeit key is used, the engine will not start. Available as an accessory or part of the Premium Package, the perimeter alarm system helps to deter potential damage or theft of your Miata while parked.

1989 - First Generation MX-5 Miata

The Mazda MX-5 was first revealed to the world at the Chicato Auto Show in February 1989 to such excitement that demand quickly exceeded production.

1998 - Second GENERATION MX-5 MIATA

The new MX-5 Miata brought a more powerful engine and new styling, as well as a special limited-edition model celebrating its 10th anniversary. In 2000, the MX-5 was certified as the best-selling two-seat convertible in the world, with sales reaching 531,890 units.

2005 - Third generation mx-5 miata

The MX-5 Miata was all new and extensively revised from headlight to exhaust in 2005, but it never strayed far from the original. This open-top roadster still offered killer looks and wind-in-your-hair exhilaration at an affordable price.
